SANTIAGO (Information) – A authorities aircraft from Mexico – which has provided Bolivia’s outgoing President Evo Morales political asylum – has refuelled in Lima on the way in which to Bolivia, Peru’s international ministry stated on Monday night.
In a press release the ministry stated the aircraft left for Bolivia at 6:30 p.m. (2330 GMT).
“This choice is in step with our obligations arising from the Caracas Conference of 1954 on Diplomatic Asylum,” it added.
Morales was granted asylum by Mexico, who requested that the leftist chief be granted protected passage to depart Bolivia.
