United Auto Employees president resigns amid corruption probe: supply

(Information) – United Auto Employees (UAW) President Gary Jones resigned ON Wednesday after being linked to an ongoing corruption probe by U.S. federal officers, a union supply confirmed to Information.

Jones’ lawyer Bruce Maffeo advised the Detroit Information that the union president had determined to resign efficient instantly. Maffeo didn’t reply to repeated requests from Information, and a UAW spokesman stated he couldn’t affirm the resignation. The choice got here hours after the union filed expenses underneath its bylaws in opposition to Jones in a transfer that would have led to his removing from workplace.
